Coronado Real Estate

While walking along one of the many bike paths in Coronado, California one day, enjoying the views of downtown San Diego and the Coronado Bay Bridge an unusual device rode past me and caught my attention. My immediate thought was that an Elliptical machine from one of the local gym’s escaped so that it could enjoy the same views and wonderful weather that Coronado has to offer.  

I later learned that I was looking at the newly invented ElliptiGO. The ElliptiGO is the brainchild of Brent Teal of Solana Beach and Coronado’s own Bryan Pate. Bryan Pate grew up in Coronado, attending schools in the Coronado Unified School District.  According to Bryan, Coronado was the test market for the ElliptiGO, and Coronado likely has the densest population of ElliptiGO riders in the world!

In awe of the ElliptiGO, I decided that I wanted to take one out for a test drive.   I went to Holland’s Bicycles located at 977 Orange Avenue, in Coronado which is owned by a local family since 1924.  Holland’s Bicycles sells and rents bicycles, bicycle gear and the ElliptiGO.  The rental process was streamlined and soon I was out the door and off on my adventure. I headed down to the bike path, located in front of the Coronado Yacht Club.  My first trip out took me just past the Silver Strand Elementary School where I turned around to head back. The ElliptiGO was designed to emulate running outdoors without the impact so I was able to cover a fair amount of distance.   I loved the ElliptiGO!   

Apparently, I am not the only one who loves the ElliptiGO.  On December 11, 2010 the ElliptiGO 8S was honored with the 2010 Most Innovative New Product (MIP) Award in the category of Action and Sports Technologies at CONNECT’s 23^rd Annual MIP Awards.  For the past 23 years, CONNECT’s MIP Awards has honored new products created and launched in San Diego to make a worldwide impact on society.  Being a Breast Cancer Survivor, it is my dream to own the Pink 8C ElliptiGO, where $120 of my purchase would be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
